My name is Beverly Mau and I am a Web Developer
Hi, my name is Beverly Mau, and this is what I do, professionally:
I alleviate the process of IT solutions for my clients and friends. I bring to the table rational solutions for the small business owner, a personalized suite of solutions, tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Here’s an example of what I do, that other web developers don’t do: I develop a cohesive story that resonates with my client’s clients.
I get paid WELL for what I do, because the amount I charge is only a fraction of what you’d be paying a bigger web firm, and I deploy a proprietary blend of solutions everyday.
I breathe solutions for my clients.
I focus on small business owners in the Atlanta, Ga area – and I also deliver for those small business owners who live all over the United States, but who are interested in the Atlanta market.
So, that’s what I do. If you have any web questions or comments for me, leave a comment, or send me an email.

Arbonne Atlanta
Arbonne is a beauty and personal care product company who issues memberships to people, and then those people can sell Arbonne Products.
Think Avon lady with formulations that don’t contain petrochemically based formulations. Having worked for Avon for 5 years, I know that this is a fresh approach.
What isn’t fresh is that Arbonne doesn’t have a policy on Twitter …
I hope Arbonne does establish a policy on Twitter for its members, because Twitter is a part of this little revolution that is going on called social media, and, well, to not recognize its importance is kind of a Fred Flintstone mentality.
Arbonne isn’t the only company that is behind the times in regards to its social media strategy. From my experience and knowledge, corporations in general, for all the power and wealth they can leverage, are notorious for making change S-L-O-W-L-Y.
Take Microsoft’s Operating System Windows IE Version 6, for example. It isn’t being supported anymore by various organizations, and Microsoft itself – THE CREATOR AND OWNER OF IE6 RECOMMENDS WE STOP USING IE6 AND UPGRADE TO IE8 – yet IE6 still has ~20% market share.
The power and wealth by major corporations is lost a little due their inability to shift on a dime. Corporations can be bogged down by their own size, with an accompanying inability to shift on a dime, relative to smaller companies.
The U.S Military just released a social media strategy for its own department, and if an organization the size of the U.S. Military can do this, I think it’s time for all major corporations to jump on board and establish social media strategies, as well, especially for those companies whose livelihood depend on memberships and issuing franchises.
Hey, I am conservative. Shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone … I don’t like Facebook. I think it’s silly. And yet it’s here. And Facebook and blogging and Twitter and YouTube and all those other platforms for communication, yadda yadda, they are having an impact on business. So it’s kind of a question of: “are you going to be an entrant? If not, get out of the way…because you’re going to sink”

Why does this matter?
We can do some competitive analysis and see how the competition has evolved, and probably look at some missteps, too, if the company has taken a financial hit, or one of their marketing campaigns didn’t pan out.
Fun, anyone?
A friend reminded me that fun is underrated. Yes, it is. And http://www.archive.org allows us to have a little fun, too, for the sake of fun, while peeking at the past.

I can already tell this guy knows what he’s talking about, and, I can’t wait to get up tomorrow morning and fit his blog into my schedule:
If you’re looking at how to measure results, or, if you’re looking at how to improve your online PPC, organic or natural search marketing campaigns, this is worth your time
My name is Beverly Mau
Who cares?
Blogging is so funny – it’s a constant, “look at me, look at me, look at me!”
My name is Beverly Mau, and my thought for right now is this: is it harder work or smarter work that counts?
Always been in the “harder work” camp, but, after having had a conversation with a higher level management type, can’t deny that “smarter work” pays.
I guess working smarter means we do what we’re suppose to do, only with time left over to golf or play tennis or whatever. That’s smarter. To convey our message in less than a sentence, get the sale, pay the bills, go to bed.
You get the picture.
In my bones, I’ve got the “work harder” genes. In society, who I see getting promoted is not necessarily the work harder camp, but a combination of “work harder and smarter”.
Cheers!
When a simple question is worth a lot
Beverly Mau here: just received an email from someone in my network, and, it just reminds me that no matter how much technology invades our lives, there are real people at the other end of each search, at the receiving end of that email, and at the other end of the “wire” when we launch a new webpage.
How old-fashioned but really, really important is it to say thank you? Very. How important is it to just send a quick email to ask for clarification before jumping into a decision? How simple is a quick phone call?
